The Ministry of Transport has published a number of modern pictures of the project to complete and develop the port of Sokhna, which is one of the main components of the logistical / dazzling logistical corridor, as part of the project to construct the Sukhna -Alexandria, the integrated logistical container of containers to link the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain.
The implementation of the Sokhna Port development project comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, the President of the Republic, to develop all Egyptian ports with the aim of converting Egypt into a regional center for transportation, logistics and transit trade.
According to the transportation in a recent report, the first stations of the Sokhna Port Development project are the Hachcheson container station, which has been completed 100%of its infrastructure, and the work is progressing in its metal structure, which includes the station square, administrative buildings and fences.
Works of completing and developing Sokhna Port
In the following lines, the most important information about the project to complete and develop the port of Sokhna, which has a total area of about 29 km2, but with regard to development work, it includes the following:
- Create 5 new ponds
- Create 18 km naval berths 18 meters deep.
- Create trading yard with an area of 9.2 million square meters.
- Create logistical areas with an area of 5.2 km2.
- Create an internal road network of 17 km concrete paving.
- Create a 30 km railway lines connected to the fast electric train line.
Sokhna port .. the largest port on the Red Sea
The state is working to transform the port of Sokhna into a pivotal port, increase Egypt’s share of the global transit trading, the project of constructing the superstructure, and managing, operating, exploiting, maintaining and re -delivering a container station in Sokhna Port, comes within the framework of the comprehensive plan to complete and develop the Sokhna port being implemented, to become the largest port on the Red Sea; Where the public location of the port was planned to match the latest global ports, to serve the movement of regional and international trade.
The transportation stated that cooperation with the largest global alliance in the field of managing and operating navigation lines and international container stations comes within the framework of the comprehensive plan of the Ministry of Transport to form strategic partnerships with the major management and operating companies of international container stations and navigational lines to ensure the arrival and frequency of the largest possible number of international ships on Egyptian ports, and to double the energy operation capacity and expand the transit trade, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al -Sisi, President of the Republic, to turn Egypt into a regional center for transport, logistics and transit trade.
