St. Peter Daniel, head of the Catholic Center for Cinema, revealed the details of the cancellation of all the festive manifestations and artistic paragraph at the opening ceremony of the seventy -third session, in mourning for the spirit of the Pope of the Vatican, scheduled for Friday, May 2, 2025.
Boutros Daniel said in a special statement to Cairo 24: The Catholic Festival is a fabrication and standing on its date, but we decided to make a human touch to mourn the spirit of the Vatican Pope and cancel all the festive manifestations and artistic paragraph at the opening ceremony because his death is a major event.
Boutros Daniel indicated that we study the holding of a special seminar on the sidelines of the festival, highlighting the journey of the Pope of the Vatican, which presented a lot of giving.
The Festival’s Supreme Committee chaired by Father Boutros Daniel, head of the festival, and Magdy Sami membership, and Michel Maher, chose six films in accordance with human, moral and artistic standards out of 44 films that were shown commercially this year in addition to films shown in various cinematic festivals, and I decided that films and artistic seminars with heroes and films will be held according to the specified table pre.
The films participating in the official competition for this session were: Les movie, which you live alone by Hossam El -Gohary, Film 404 by Hani Khalifa Al -Sayed, the film of passion Sultan by director Heba Yousry, a movie that raised my eyes to the sky by the two director Nada Riyad and Ayman Al -Amir, the white dress film by the director ﭼlan Auf, the movie search for an outlet for the exit of Mr. Rambo by director Khaled Mansour.
The jury headed by the director Tariq Al -Arian, and the membership of: The artist Amr Youssef, the artist Dina Fouad, the artist Heba Abdel -Ghani, the writer and author Ahmed Murad, Director of Photography Dr. Ayman Abu Al -Makarim, Monterre Rania Al -Muntasir Billah, Technical critic Nahid Salah, and musician Shadi Moanes.
It is worth noting that the activities of the seventy -third session will be held during the period from Friday, May 2, until Friday, May 9, 2025, in the Nile Hall for Franciscan Fathers, and the presence of film shows will be according to free personal invitations obtained from the Nile Hall for Franciscan Fathers.
