The incident sparked great anger in the popular and parliamentary circles, amid calls for investigation and immediate accountability after it caused a great shock and sparked harsh criticism on social media after circulating video clips of the incident, which prompted deputies to use their legislative tools guaranteed by the law to investigate the incident.
Earlier, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, issued a decision to dismiss the Secretary -General of Sohag Governorate, based on the investigations conducted by the Ministry after the Minister of Local Development received a memorandum from Major General Abdel Fattah Siraj, the governor of Sohag, in the incident that occurred between the Deputy Governor of Sohag and the Secretary General of the Governorate today, Friday, during the opening of the Sohag Governor of the Al -Kamil Mosque.
In a statement – Cairo 24 obtained a copy of it – and the Minister of Local Development stressed that the sanctity of the homes of God and the presence in the mosque square after the opening was not taken into account, stressing the need for all workers in the local administration agencies to adhere to the various governorates to the requirements of the job duty and adhere to the code of job behavior, regulations and organized instructions during the performance of work in the public office.
On the political level, the crisis reached its climax when parliamentarians and deputies demanded a serious investigation and to determine the size of the responsibilities.
The crisis also sparked the anger of the Sohagi street, which the deputy governor has appreciated and demanded the deportation of the governorate’s general secretary, for his inappropriate treatment of the governor and his deputy for a while and his stagnation of crises, which began to close the mass meeting that was happening with the deputy governor in the governorate’s general office, as well as stopping the deputy from the signature.
Representative Ihab Ramzi, a member of the House of Representatives, submitted an urgent request for a briefing directed to the counselor, Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, to direct him to Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, calling for an immediate investigation into this incident, which he described as dangerous.
Representative Mahmoud Muslim, a member of the Senate, condemned the incident strongly, describing it as unacceptable transgression.
