The first appearance of Pope Francis
Pope Francis, 88, has disappeared from view since March 23, when he gave a short greeting before leaving Jimili Hospital in Rome after more than 5 weeks of treatment in the most dangerous health crisis he has been going through since his papal assumption 12 years ago.
In a move that was not announced in advance, the Pope went out to the scene shortly before noon, 1000 GMT, at the end of the celebration of the Mass on the occasion of the Jubilee of the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis stood in front of the main altar for service under the bright sunlight, and a wave of crowds, before he spoke shortly, and the Pope said in a faint voice while receiving oxygen through a small hose under his nose: someone blessed everyone .. Thank you very much.

The Pope smiled a wide smile as he revived the crowds, and despite his weak voice, he seemed stronger than he was during his appearance on March 23, 2025, when he had difficulty speaking.
Pope Francis usually prays the weekly prayer in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, but he has not been able to do so since the ninth of last February, before he was hospitalized.
He was admitted to the hospital on February 14 due to a popular inflammatory seizure that developed into a double pneumonia, which is a particularly serious condition for him because he was suffering from the inflammation of the pleural when he was an adult young man and part of one of his lungs was removed.
Sunday Mass was part of a special celebration in honor of health care workers and patients. In a written letter issued by the Vatican a little afternoon, Pope Francis said that he felt close to him during his time in the hospital.
