The Financial Secretary of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aref Hajras, revealed a study of the project to establish a Thai hospital as a joint investment project between Bahrain and Thailand, based on the strong reputation of Thai hospitals in the medical sector, pointing out that such a project will add a great value to the relationship between the two countries, and will serve Bahrain and the region.
Hajras stressed that the relations between Bahrain and Thailand are historic and solid, pointing to the importance of bilateral visits to enhance trade cooperation and acquaintance between businessmen.
This came during a meeting organized by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday morning, gathering a commercial delegation from the Kingdom of Thailand with members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and some Bahraini merchants. Hajras explained that the meeting was attended by representatives of multiple sectors, such as hospitality and real estate development, which opens the way for commercial deals. He emphasized the existence of great investment opportunities in both countries, calling for strengthening economic relations through new investment projects, especially in the areas of health.
For his part, the Ambassador of Thailand in Bahrain, Somati Chuljaga, revealed that this visit is the beginning of a series of commercial delegations, stressing his country’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Bahrain in various sectors.
He explained that the discussions are continuing to revitalize the Thai market “Tae Mart” located in Diyar Al -Muharraq, stressing the importance of the concerted efforts of the government and private sectors to achieve this.
The ambassador pointed out that this visit is the first of its kind for Thai businessmen to Bahrain, expressing his country’s intention to bring more commercial delegations in the future. He added that the delegation includes senior Thai businessmen from the hospitality sectors, food industries, and real estate, including investors from the Pattaya region.
He stressed that the aim of the visit is to expand the horizons of cooperation and enhance the partnership between the two countries, saying: “We see in Bahrain an important gateway to the markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. I feel lucky to work in this beautiful country, where people enjoy friendliness and welcome, and I have formed many friendships since I arrived 4 months ago. ” He added: “He is very interesting in developing economic relations between our two countries, and I work hard to enhance trade and investment, and this visit embodies these efforts.”
On commercial opportunities between the two markets, the ambassador explained that he visited many Bahraini factories and companies, and admired the high quality of products, noting that Bahrain has international companies in the fields of aluminum and chemical industries, and there are great opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.
He stressed that diversification of supply chains has become an essential element in the success of business globally, stressing that Bahrain is able to play a pivotal role in this field.
