WhatsApp is the most used application around the world, as it contains many advantages, including the chat lock feature to enhance the privacy of conversations on iPhone and Android devices.
This feature transmits closed conversations to the “closed conversations” folder at the top of your conversation list, but this may draw the attention of users who use your phone, and to make them more secret, WhatsApp now provides the secret symbol feature, adding an additional safety level.
What is the secret symbol?
The secret symbol feature allows you to set a unique password to improve the privacy of closed conversations, and as soon as it is activated, this feature hides the closed conversations folder from your main conversations list, and to reach these conversations, write the secret code in the search bar, which reduces the appearance of closed conversations.
If the code is incorrectly inserted or if someone tries to reach your conversations without his knowledge, the closed conversations will remain hidden and safe.
How to prepare a secret code
According to the WhatsApp Assistance Center, the secret symbol can be prepared through a set of steps:
1- Open WhatsApp and move to the “Closed Chat” folder.
2- Click on the drop-down menu (three vertical points) in the right upper corner.
3- Choose “chat lock settings”.
4- Click on the “Secret Code”.
Now, enter an easy -to -save symbol “allowed to use letters or emojis”, then click “Next” and prepare it for confirmation, then choose “Done”.
What to do if you forget the secret code
If you forget your secret symbol, move to the settings, then click on the privacy and then press the chat lock, then open and wipe the closed chats to open, this step deletes all the closed chats, so it is advised to remember to keep a backup copy of your data regularly.
