The signatories added: “We express our full support for the petition of the pilots, which also reflects our deep concern over the future of the country, and we join our voice to call to move immediately to reach an agreement to return all the 59 hostages to their homes, without delay, even at the expense of stopping the war.”
They concluded their message by saying that “the sanctity of life, my prime minister, precedes the desire for revenge.”
The newspaper quoted lawyer Jil Shorish, who described it as a former senior official in the Mossad who initiated the message, as saying: “As people who have served the country for many years, it is important for us to make our voices heard and stand by the pilots … Like us, other large groups in society join, lawyers, doctors and teachers, to this call.”
At the same time, Netanyahu and his defense minister, Yisrael Katz, received a similar petition bearing the signatures of about 200 doctors in the reserve forces in the various Israeli army units, calling for several detainees without delaying and stopping the war in the Gaza Strip.
“We will repeat our call whenever necessary,” the petition said, and they wrote: “After more than 550 days of fighting, which has already inflicted heavy losses in the State of Israel, we feel pain because the continuation of the fighting in Gaza mainly aims to serve political and personal interests (for the Israeli Prime Minister) without a security goal .. The continuation of the fighting does not enhance the achievement of the declared targets of the war from the beginning but rather exposes the Israeli army soldiers and life Our kidnapped civilians. “
The signatories on the petition wrote: “As military doctors, we serve in the reserve forces out of the commitment to the sanctity of life, in the spirit of the Israeli army and the doctor’s division, and as an expression of mutual responsibility in Israeli society.”
