This came during a speech delivered by Jamal Mohamed Fakhro, First Vice President of the Shura Council, Vice -President of the delegation of the Parliamentary Division, in front of the fourth conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non -Aligned Movement, on “the revival of the seventieth anniversary of the spirit Bahrain in the 150th General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union. Where the Parliamentary Division represented His Excellency Deputy Abdel Nabi Salman Ahmed, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, His Excellency Dr. Bassam Ismail Al -Banmah Muhammad, and His Excellency Deputy Dr. Mahdi Abdulaziz Al -Shuwaikh.

During the speech, Fakhro explained that, in the coronation of the leading efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting peaceful coexistence on the international scene, the United Nations General Assembly approved, during its session recently, the draft resolution submitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which requires the adoption of the twenty -eighth of January of each year as an international day for peaceful coexistence, indicating that this initiative, which was launched by the King Hamad International Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, comes within the framework of a step A advanced strategy towards consolidating the noble human values, which the Kingdom of Bahrain defends at the international level.

Fakhro pointed out that the United Nations’s approval of the initiative of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence is a living embodiment of the international community’s appreciation for the leading efforts that the Kingdom made in spreading and enhancing the values ​​of tolerance and harmony among people The bias, and that this initiative was not just a diplomatic step, but rather a natural extension of the principles that Bahrain has adopted over the decades, to confirm its firm commitment to building a world of sustainable peace, constructive cooperation, and enhances understanding between the peoples of the earth with their various beliefs and cultures.

Fakhro stressed that the celebration of the seventy years since the Bandung Principles Declaration is an important occasion to reaffirm the importance of parliaments in practically enhancing these principles. Parliaments play a major role in formulating legislation that enhances human rights and guarantees social justice, and works to combat discrimination in its various forms. Also, legislation that supports the achievement of sustainable development goals and the promotion of areas of health, education and the environment would translate Bandung’s lofty principles into effective policies on the ground, and contribute to building societies capable of facing environmental and economic challenges that are more complicated in our time.

Fakhro explained that, in addition to the legislative and supervisory role, parliamentary diplomacy represents a powerful tool to enhance cooperation between countries, where parliamentarians can work to strengthen relations and deepen joint dialogue in a way that contributes to supporting international peace and security. Through this diplomacy, more cooperation and understanding can be achieved among peoples in a way that reflects the principles of Bandung that refuse to interfere in the internal affairs of countries and believe in peaceful coexistence and equality.

Fakhro said that the Palestinian people are still suffering from the occupation for more than 75 years, and the massacres that this defenseless people are exposed to is an affirmation of the absence of justice, justice and peace, which are some of the principles that the movement of states of non -alignment has been called for since its foundation, stressing the pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm and firm position to support the rights of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent state, on the borders of the fourth of June 1967 and its capital is East Jerusalem in accordance with the decisions of Sharia International.
