The Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, stated that additional proposals for the development of the abandoned property in the Malikis, provided that implementation is done through partnership with the private sector.
In his overall response, he indicated the ministry’s appreciation to the northern municipal council’s proposal to establish a hanging garden, commercial stores and a hall on a property located in Zaid Bin Amira Street, Majma 1032 in the Malikiyah area.
The representative of the twelfth department in the North Municipal Director Zainab Al -Darazi said that the property is deserted, and it is a vital opportunity to improve the quality of life in the region, in addition to that it is located in a strategic spot on a commercial street and close to the residential neighborhood, which allows it to be converted into a vibrant space that combines commercial investment and free entertainment for the people of the region.
She emphasized that the proposal will attract visitors, increases commercial movement in the region, and will enhance the local identity by supporting small commercial projects, and will increase the green spaces that help improve the quality of life and reduce temperatures.
She indicated that this project will enhance environmental awareness by designing a sustainable garden using renewable energy, and will also provide free space for the people of the region for entertainment.
