A recent Chinese study showed that adding a handful of raisins or any kind of dried fruits to breakfast may contribute to increasing the average age, by reducing the risk of heart disease and cancer.
Eating raisins with breakfast may prolong life
According to the British Daily Mail newspaper, researchers from the University of Science and Technology in Anhawi, China, revealed that eating dried fruits within the morning meal reduces the risk of death with heart disease by up to 18%, and reduces the risk of death by cancer by 11%.
The study also showed that eating foods such as mousse, porridge or bran pills with breakfast can reduce the risk of premature death by between 10 to 15%.
On the other hand, another study in the nutrition magazine warned that the start of today’s eating of sugar grains may increase the risk of premature death by up to 40%.
The results were based on the analysis of the data of about 186,000 people from the United Kingdom, where the patterns of eating different breakfasts were tracked and their impact on their long -term health.
Scientists believe that the process of drying fruits contributes to the concentration of nutrients and natural fibers, which makes them a strong source of antioxidants that help prevent heart disease and cancer.
