In its recent meeting, the Legal, Financial and Administrative Committee of the Southern Region Council reviewed the proposal received by the member of the fourth district, Mohamed Darraj regarding the acquisition of abandoned houses in the fourth district in the southern governorate and benefiting from them in establishing parking lots.
Drag stressed that the idea of the proposal is to put an end to the phenomenon of abandoned houses and their immoral exploitation or to accommodate irregular employment, especially within the residential neighborhoods, and the accompanying security problems and harassment of families.
He indicated that the proposal aims to benefit from the real estate based on the houses for the public benefit, and to keep pace with the urban development that Bahrain is witnessing in a manner commensurate with the civilizational and aesthetic aspect of the southern region, and accordingly it was proposed to establish public parking for cars on these real estate, due to the lack of parking in the region and the reduction of the disputes of the people because of it.
The Municipal Council for the southern region recommended that the abandoned houses be acquired in the fourth district, and to benefit from them as parking lots
