Dr. Al -Shuwaikh: The Kingdom of Bahrain is implementing legislative policies that enhance health care with justice and efficiency

Deputy Dr. Mahdi Abdulaziz Al -Shuwaikh stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to enhance its pioneering position in the field of health care through the implementation of advanced legislative policies aimed at ensuring the health of individuals, especially women, in a comprehensive and safe health environment, and with justice and efficiency, noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the countries that made great progress in the field of public health care.

This came during the participation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by MP Dr. Mahdi Abdulaziz Al -Shuwaikh, and Hala Ramzi Fayez, a member of the Shura Council, in a workshop on the impact of social beliefs and standards on women’s health, which was held on the sidelines of the 150th General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union in the city of Tashkent in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In an intervention during the workshop, Dr. Al -Shuwaikh explained that the legislative authority is working in cooperation with the esteemed government to improve the health system to keep pace with the needs of citizens, stressing that the national efforts to promote women’s health keep pace with the progress made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in terms of health and medical services in a way that is consistent with international standards, where Bahraini women have health care according to the highest international quality standards and trust and safety rates, which positively affected the level of life quality The level of active and fruitful participation of Bahraini women in various sectors of life.

Dr. Al -Shuwaikh pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain issued more than 150 royal, law, legislative amendments, ministerial decision and generalization over the past two decades. These legislations have contributed to strengthening and protecting women’s rights. Among the most prominent of these legislations are: Family Law, and the Law of Protection from Family Violence, in addition to many modern laws compatible with the Bahraini constitution and international covenants, foremost of which is the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

Dr. Al -Shuwaikh said that the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue its relentless career towards achieving a comprehensive health system that guarantees justice and equality for all members of society, with a special focus on women’s health and health rights.
