The Information and E -Government Authority won the Smart Cities Award 2025 in the category of “Smart Cities Initiative 2025”, for the project of applying my government (MyGov).
The commission was announced during the opening ceremony of the eighth edition of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025, which was held in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, under the slogan (We build the future .. smart cities sustainable growth) from April 15 and 16.
On this occasion, Muhammad Ali, the chief executive of the Information and E -government Authority, expressed his great pride and pride in the victory of the application of my government (MyGov) in this award, which reflects the great support and interest that the government attaches to the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, for the efforts of digital transformation and adopting modern technologies, which contributed effectively to advancing the process of development and construction and promoting concepts Creativity and innovation in government work.
The leader pointed out that the “My Government” application, which was launched by the authority in the first quarter of 2025, is one of the most prominent strategic digital initiatives, which was implemented in response to the public’s proposals received for the authority, pointing to the importance of the application, which provides users with a unified entry experience to benefit from a set of government services through the e -mail 2.0.
The leader also pointed to the continuous follow -up of the authority’s efforts by His Excellency the first team, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology, in response and implementation of the esteemed government’s directives, stressing that obtaining this award will contribute to motivating the Bahrain team in the authority in order to continue their giving and provide the best, and provide his thanks and deep appreciation to all those in charge of organizing the summit and the award.
On the other hand, Lulwa Sami Ibrahim, Director of Communication and Marketing Department of the Information and E -Government Authority during the summit, participated in a discussion session during which the authority reviewed the efforts of the implementation of digital projects that contributed to promoting urban innovation, including the availability of the national portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain Bahrain.bh, and the provision of smart phone applications such as my health application and the application of my government (MyGov), as well
Providing and relying on open data in order to launch more electronic services that are in line with the needs of the public.
The Director of Communication and Marketing Department also stressed the keenness of the Information and Electronic Government Authority to enhance strategic and interacting communication with members of society and diversify the platforms and communication channels such as its availability of the national system for proposals and complaints “Tawasul”, with the aim of identifying the public’s opinions and impressions.
It is worth noting that the Information and Electronic Government Authority participates in the exhibition accompanying the Bahrain Summit for Smart Cities 2025, through which it provides an introductory and detailed summary about the latest services and applications that it launched recently, including the application of my government (MyGov) and the developed electronic key 2.0, in addition to the most prominent new services available through the national portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain Bahrain.bh, and the services that were launched through the issuance system Building licenses “buildings”.
The Bahrain Smart Cities Summit witnesses wide participation by government and private agencies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the participation of Arab and regional countries and organizations such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Djibouti, and the Arab Cities Organization, and through its sessions a set of topics related to smart cities, including innovation in artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, financial technology and smart construction technologies, and transportation technologies Smart.
