Marwa Abu Laila, founder and executive director of the Photopia Foundation said in a statement: The Cairo Week celebrates the image and artists who are able to capture ideas and moments affecting their lenses, and we chose to be the slogan of this year’s session is “discovering the scene”; Where we focus through the works presented and discussion episodes with experts and specialists on discussing the prospects for the near future for practices and photography profession based on the ideas and vision of the creative man in the era of artificial intelligence and the challenges he raises from the low demand for the works of photographers, as well as the local and international economic slowdown.
“Abu Laila” added: “The most distinguished Cairo Week for the image is that it targets the general public and opens the chances of meeting with the community of Egyptian, African, Arab, and international photographers; and creates a state of cultural interaction that is reflected in artistic production, whether for professionals or the throat of young photo makers,” adding that the fourth session program will cover a wide range of types of photography to include: documentary films, journalistic photography, and cinematic, and cinematic, and cinematic, Experimental practices in fashion, food, contemporary art, digital media, non -replaceable symbols, artistic output. The events, along with exhibitions, include lectures and educational programs targeting professionals and emerging artists, seminars, photography tours, short film shows, and fixed photo shows.
Throughout its previous sessions, the Cairo image week was able to attract a wide audience, especially with the exhibition’s entry for free, and attendance of lectures and discussions at symbolic prices, to receive last year more than 35 thousand visitors to its actors, in addition to 4,500 educational participants.
