The Ministry of Sports and Youth in Syria announced the exclusion of the coach of the women’s basketball team, Ayman Suleiman, and the two players Noura Bishara and Sidra Suleiman, from the national team mission, and prevented them from practicing any sports activity until further notice.
The ministry’s decision came against the background of the spread of pictures through the “Al -Estori” feature in my account on Instagram, in which they appeared in the national team’s shirt without the presence of the Syrian flag, which sparked widespread controversy on social media.
The Syrian Basketball Federation had issued a statement a few days ago in which it made it clear that the images were “modified and manipulated”, but this clarification did not prevent the ministry from proceeding to take its actions.
