The Kingdom of Bahrain provides a leading and advanced experience, in caring, protecting, rehabilitating, integrating and enhancing the equality of people with autism spectrum, whether through legislation and laws, or educational initiatives and providing job opportunities, or services, as the government implements a set of financial support programs for people with disabilities, and cooperates with universities and civil society, according to the principle of partnership, in developing this experience by improving services through training and scientific research. The experiment is transferred Bahraini from care to equality and participation, within the framework of an advanced philosophy, which considers that disability is a lack of support tools, autism and other disabilities. People who possess great capabilities and creative sense whenever they have the required support and societal acceptance. The Bahraini Autism Association estimated the number of autistic spectrum disorders at about 2200 people, while the Ministry of Social Development statistics (April 2024 »stated that there are 1579 injured people With autism, 615 do Down syndrome in Bahrain. Autism and people with disabilities benefit from the services of working centers, which amount to 49 centers, of which 6 government centers, 17 private centers, and 26 private centers. There is coordination between “education” and “development” to transfer cases of people with disabilities, from academic and vocational rehabilitation centers to government schools or vice versa. In its turn, the Ministry of Labor confirmed the continuation of the implementation of programs designated for employing unemployed people with disabilities, in a way that ensures their integration into the labor market, within the framework of the executive plan of the national strategy for people with disabilities 2023 – 2027, and that it is continuing to integrate them into the labor market, through Providing all employment, training and insurance services for disruption, revealing that 271 citizens were employed during the year 2022, and 242 in the year 2023 with disabilities. According to the principle of partnership, civil societies, universities and specialized centers play a pivotal role in developing and seeing modern experiences in education, integration, educational, health and social services, and in this context it was opened recently “Hala from Alia”, the first café and bakery in Bahrain to be operated by young people with autism, to be a practical environment in customer service, food preparation, and hospitality services management, which contributes to enhancing their confidence in themselves and supporting their independence. The governmental, private and private initiatives are still continuing to support the transfer of people with autism from care to integration and full participation, in a manner that creates a more comprehensive and fair society, and enhances The leadership of the Bahraini experience.
