The Bahrain Gardens Club celebrated the winners of its annual competitions in a distinctive festive atmosphere, in the presence of Sheikha Maram Bint Issa Al Khalifa, Secretary -General of the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector, Okay Asaku, Japan’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain and a number of members of the club’s board of directors, as well as officials from the agricultural sector and interested in gardening and sustainable agriculture.
During the ceremony, Sheikha Maram praised the active role played by the Bahrain Gardens Club in promoting agricultural culture among members of society, stressing that the annual competitions organized by the club represent an important platform to discover and encourage talents in the fields of agriculture and environmental cosmetics, as well as its contribution to instilling the values of environmental sustainability in different age groups.
For its part, Zahra Abdel -Malik, President of the Bahrain Gardens Club, stated that these competitions come within the club’s strategy to raise the level of environmental and agricultural awareness in society, and to enhance community participation in green activities, noting that the club is constantly seeking to develop its programs and initiatives in line with the national goals of agricultural and environmental development.
Abdel -Malik confirmed that the continuous successes achieved by the club would not have been done without the continuous support from the wise leadership and constructive partnerships with official and private institutions, in addition to the great commitment by the members of the club and the volunteers.
The ceremony included honoring the winners in various categories of competitions, which varied between the best home gardens design, the most beautiful home planted plants, environmental recycling projects, flower coordination, vegetables and photography.
