The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Wael Al -Mubarak, affirmed that the ministry is one of the pillars of the establishment of smart cities, in coordination and cooperation with other ministries and relevant authorities to achieve a sustainable urban structure, artificial intelligence is considered one of its dimensions. He pointed out in a statement to Al -Watan when the work of the eighth version of the smart cities exhibition, to the distinction of this version in terms of attendance, where more than 50 specialized personalities and 25 speakers participate, including distinguished participation from countries The Cooperation Council is one of the Arab countries, and in the presence of the Secretary General of the Arab Cities Organization, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al -Asfour. The blessed is the content of the conference, where “he dealt with many worksheets, and he said that it represents a real opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, and highlights successful experiences in the areas of smart infrastructure, artificial intelligence and we hope that it will come out with results that contribute to achieving and reaching our cities into high indicators, more sustainable and more intelligent.” On the role of the Ministry of Municipalities regarding the construction of urban cities, Al -Mubarak said: “When we talk about urban cities, many dimensions overlap, including the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, which specializes in organizing regions in coordination and cooperation with other ministries, as well as the dimensions of transportation and transportation services, communications, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and digital, and this group achieves a sustainable urban structure.” Smart cities have made the Kingdom of Bahrain a pioneer entering the global competitiveness index of smart cities, as the Kingdom achieved an advanced position in the global list, ranking 36 out of 146 countries in the IMD classification of smart cities.
