Representative Dr. Maryam Al -Dhaan confirmed that the Bahrain Grand Prix for Gulf Airlines Formula 1 has become a national success story that embodies Bahrain’s ability to organize the largest global events in a professionalism, to reflect the civilizational image of the Kingdom and strengthen its position as a pioneering sports and tourism center in the region.
She pointed out that the organization of this global event in the Bahrain International Circuit is not just a sporting occasion, but rather a very important economic, tourist and development engine, stressing that “Formula 1” has become an integral part of the modern identity of Bahrain, and its comprehensive development narration.
She added that the economic dimensions of the race expand year after year, to include various sectors of society, starting from major institutions through small and medium enterprises, to Bahraini youth competencies that are now standing at the forefront of the ranks of this global event, which reflects Bahrain’s success in investing in the Bahraini person.
Al -Dhawan stressed that the race contributed to raising the indicators of hotel occupancy, increasing tourism spending, and strengthening commercial movement in complexes, markets, restaurants and cafes, which creates an integrated economic cycle that revives the national economy, and contributes to stimulating several sectors, most notably hospitality, transport and retail.
She said: “What we are witnessing today is a direct result of the comprehensive economic vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as this event constitutes an open investment window on the world, and enhances the confidence of international investors in the stable and developed Bahraini investment environment.”
Al -Dhahman also confirmed that the race does not only carry direct material benefits, but also establishes Bahrain’s position as a safe and stable destination that embraces major sporting events, noting that the continuous success of this event is a clear message to the world that Bahrain is an oasis of security and safety, and is able to excellence and leadership regionally and internationally.
She pointed out that the indirect returns from Formula 1 are no less important than direct returns, as the race contributes to the promotion of Bahrain globally, the enhancement of its cultural and civilizational image, as it supports the infrastructure of the tourism sector, and creates qualitative job opportunities for ambitious Bahraini youth.
Deputy Al -Dhawan concluded her statement by inviting the concerned authorities to continue to support this major event, by expanding the scope of partnerships with the private sector, and intensifying regional and global promotion of this event, in a manner that ensures the maximum economic, tourism and cultural benefit, in line with Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.
