The Cairo Criminal Court, held at the Fifth Settlement Court Complex, today, Sunday, April 27, 2025, postponed the trial of 17 accused in the case known in the media as the new customs bribe, and those accused of seizing more than 10 million pounds for the May 26 session.
The issue of new customs bribery
The session will be held under the chairmanship of Counselor Mahmoud Al -Sayed Al -Kahki, the membership of Advisors Osama Muhammad Ali, Abdul -Azim Sadiq Khalifa, Khaled Abdel Rahman Salem, and the secretariat of Ahmed Reda.
The competent authorities referred the defendants to the trial, including the Director General of the Free Markets in the Cairo Customs Sector, a branch agent in one of the major import and export companies, a branch manager, references, financial affairs specialist, 7 customs officers, and the owner of a contracting institution and others, on charges related to seizing the amount of 10 million and 791 thousand and 700 pounds as a bribe, in exchange for passing goods from wines and cigarettes without Pay off the taxes due on them.
