In the context of celebrating the World Down Syndrome Day, which falls on March 21 of each year, the Zayed Upper Foundation for People of Determination stressed the importance of early intervention to provide support and care for individuals with Down syndrome, and work to enable them and integrate them effectively into society. The Foundation said that it provides its services to 237 students from the category of Down syndrome enrolled in its care and rehabilitation centers at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, noting that early intervention programs, such as speech and language therapy, job therapy, and special education, and providing support and assistance to individuals with Down syndrome works to develop the basic skills needed to communicate.
