The Ministry of Works confirmed that the contractors’ failure to adhere to the contracts concluded with the ministry without a convincing justification that exposes them to warning and applying financial penalties.
The ministry stated that it requires not to dig any new paving street for a period of two years by any service agency without obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Works, as this procedure aims to reduce the frequency of excavations in the same area except for the maximum necessity to reduce the damage that may affect the quality and appearance of the street, knowing that coordination is done during the planning period with the various authorities concerned with the infrastructure to ensure the integration of the implementation of the projects so that the completion of the ground services is completed before the paving work, Or put tubes and corridors to pass services in the future without the need to cut asphalt.
In its response to the question of the Shura Council member Abdulaziz Al -Ajman, the Ministry indicated that each project has a team consisting of an engineer, assistant engineer or several engineers, assistants and engineering technicians, according to the volume of the project, where the team takes daily supervision of the quality of the materials used and the contracting work and its commitment to the standard specifications that the ministry and based on international standards.
Also, all the materials used are examined before starting any project, and certificates approved to agree to their use by the Department of Materials Engineering in the Ministry of Works and in cooperation with reliable and accredited external laboratories.
The ministry stated that it is working hard to push for the wheel of sustainable development by working to enhance the ingredients of the infrastructure to keep pace with the developmental, urban and investment movement, and continues to implement plans, programs and strategic service projects and development projects of a service nature, and other infrastructure projects in various regions of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Ministry stated that it pays great attention to ensuring the implementation of road projects according to the highest levels of quality and commitment to the specified timetable, taking into account coordination with all the relevant authorities in any road projects.
