Under a generous patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Highness the Corner Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary -General of the Supreme Defense Council, witnessed in the presence of His Highness Colonel Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard Special Guard, the launch of the first Bahraini satellite “Al -Mundhir”.
The launch ceremony was attended by Ahmed bin Salman Al -Muslim, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ali bin Saleh Al -Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander -in -Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, and the first team, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Communications and Communications, and Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education.
The launch took place from the Vandinberg base in the United States of America using the SpaceX “Falcon 9” missile, where “Al -Mundhir” is the first Bahraini satellite to be designed and developed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and aims to localize satellite technologies and enhance national space capabilities, where “Al -Mundhir” carries four space loads designed and developed by space engineers Bahrainis. It constitutes a start for the Kingdom of Bahrain towards wider horizons of technological progress in the space sector.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa raised the sincere congratulations and blessings to the shrine of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the monarch of the country, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister, stressing His Highness that this achievement reflects the royal royal vision in supporting innovation and scientific excellence, and enhancing the Kingdom’s status in the space sector And technology.
His Highness praised the efforts of all the national cadres that participated in this project, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the employees of the National Authority for Space Sciences, the participating governmental institutions and institutions, and all those who contributed to achieving this national achievement, stressing that the concerted efforts reflects Bahrain’s commitment to developing its capabilities in the space sector, and investing in qualified national competencies to achieve more successes in this field.
