Axios news website revealed that US President Donald Trump intends to visit Saudi Arabia, in the middle of next May, thus becoming the first external visit to the 47th president since he took over the presidency of the United States.
The American President made it clear that he would meet, as part of his first foreign visit to Saudi Arabia, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, pointing out in an interview with Al -Arabiya and Al -Hadath that he will work with the Crown Prince to restore peace to the region.
It is noteworthy that the date of his first external visit in his 47th presidency coincides with the date of his previous visit. On the other hand, a White House official says that the talks expected to be held in Riyadh will focus on discussing foreign investments, strengthening relations with the Gulf states, as well as ending the conflict in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Trump’s visit was discussed in recent weeks between Saudi officials and their American counterparts, on the sidelines of the talks that Riyadh recently hosted on the conflict in Ukraine, according to sources reported by the “Axios” website.
In addition, it is reported that Trump’s first phone call to a foreign leader was with the Saudi Crown Prince, which was described by American circles as a strong message to a basic partner and friend in 80 years.
In communication, ways of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and America were discussed to bring peace, security and stability in the Middle East region, as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation to fight terrorism.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia affirmed its desire to expand its investments and commercial relations with America in the next four years in the amount of $ 600 billion, as the Crown Prince indicated in the context of the phone call to the Trump administration’s ability to expected reforms in the United States to create economic prosperity that Saudi Arabia seeks to benefit from its opportunities.
