The lymphatic system is an essential part of the immune system, as it helps in getting rid of toxins and waste, and protects the body from infection and diseases, but unlike the blood circulation that the heart drives, the lymphatic system depends on movement and physical activity to work efficiently, according to the Times Now.

Tips for activating the lymphatic system and enhancing its functions

1. Exercise regularly
• Aerobic exercises such as walking, jogging, swimming, and jumping stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid.
• Cord jumping exercise or trampoline is one of the best exercises to stimulate the lymphatic system and improve blood circulation.
2. Drink enough water
• The lymphatic system works efficiently upon good hydration, so it is recommended to drink 8-10 cups of water per day.
• Avoid sugary drinks and soft drinks because they may hinder the work of the lymphatic system.
3. Massage the lymphatic system (manual lymphatic drainage)
• Gently helps the lymph massage in draining stagnant fluids and stimulating the lymph cycle.
• It is preferable to massage areas such as the neck, under the armpits, behind the knees, and thighs in light circular motions.
4. Eat foods that stimulate the lymphatic system
• Foods rich in antioxidants such as berries, cabbage, and spinach help remove toxins.
Foods rich in potassium such as bananas, avocado, and sweet potatoes support lymph fluid flow.
Garlic, ginger and turmeric is a natural anti -inflammatory that stimulates the lymphatic system.
5. Deep breathing and relaxation techniques
• Deep breathing of the diaphragm helps stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid and reduce stress.
Yoga can be practiced or meditated to enhance lymph health and relieve stress.
6. Reducing toxins in the body
• Avoid processed foods full of preservatives that may hinder toxins.
• Use natural skin care products, because some chemicals in cosmetics may affect the lymphatic system.
7. Bathing with cold and hot water (thermal contrast)
• Switching between hot and cold water during bathing stimulates blood circulation and the lymphatic system.
• Cold water helps reduce lymph vessels, while hot water expands them, which enhances lymphatic flow.
8. Avoid sitting for long periods
• Continuous movement is necessary to stimulate the lymphatic system, so it is preferable to stand and move every 30-60 minutes.
• Stretching or short walking exercises can be practiced to stimulate the body.
9. Wearing loose clothes
• Narrow clothes may hinder the flow of lymphatic fluid, so it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes to facilitate movement.
