Qena Governorate celebrates today, Monday, its national day and put a wreath of flowers on the memorial in the village of Al -Baroud of the Qaft Center, which is the village in which the people of Qena won a battle between the French fleet at the time, which reached the Al -Baroud Beach in 1799 and was made up of 12 marine vessels equipped with weapons and at the front of the famous vessel Italia of Napoleon, and the people faced those ships and the war. The al -Nabbout and the victim of the battle started dozens of people from the village, but the people were able to bomb the gunpowder that was present on the ships, killing 500 French soldiers as a result of the bombing.
Qena celebrates its national day
The sons of Qena celebrate the placement of flowers on the memorial that is located in the Qaft Center and read Al -Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, and a number of security, executive and popular leaders in the governorate every year.
It is scheduled that the governor of Qena will open a number of national projects on the occasion of the celebration of the National Governorate Day.
