Al -Azhar Mosque continued, today, Sunday, the activities of the Women’s Ramadan Forum under the title: How do we raise our children on fasting?
Dr. Hanan Madbouly started her speech by showing the role of parents towards children in planting the love of worship, and emphasized that the energy age for fasting differs according to the child’s structure, and it is not permissible to insist on fasting if it harms them because of the weakness of their structure or illness, as I mentioned the morals and values that are enhanced by fasting in the hearts of children, including self -discipline and sympathy with others Parents teach children the virtues and etiquette of fasting, and their participation in the joy of the holy month.
For her part, Dr. Samah Hamdi stressed the need not to lose sight of the importance of faith education for their children and put it on the ladder of their priorities besides physical, educational and psychological education, and giving them the amount that is appropriate for them as the basis in determining the course of their relationship with the Creator, the Exalted, the Majestic Their actions, which makes it easy for parents to train their children in practical acts of worship, such as prayer and fasting.
A member of the Al -Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa explained that the child is a fertile land in which the values must be implanted correctly and a correct way to find a sound fruit, and this correct method is in the prophetic educational approach that the Messenger of God Muhammad – may God bless him and grant him peace – set in training children to pray gradually from the age Takasl, adding that the Prophet not only concerned with this approach, but it can be followed in training children to gradually fast, taking into account the choice of the appropriate timing according to their health and physical conditions.
At the conclusion of the forum, Dr. Sana Al -Sayyid explained that raising children is one of the greatest acts of worship that one approaches to God, so education is a responsibility. The month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for parents in order to accustom their children to the acts of worship and obedience that inherits the love of God in the heart of the child since the young, the most important of which is fasting in order to refine their souls.
The researcher at the Woman’s Forum at the Al -Azhar Mosque confirmed that although the Muslim person is charged with fasting by adulthood, we must return children to fasting before that, without raising within them fear and terror, as the child broke the fast because of his inability to bear the hardship of fasting so that he does not learn lying and lack of honesty.
It is worth noting that the “Women’s Ramadaniya” forum comes within the framework of the scientific and advocacy plan for the Al -Azhar Mosque during the month of Ramadan, under the patronage of the Honorable Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif.
