The US State Department has warned American citizens of the increasing possibility of attacks during the Eid Al -Fitr holiday, which may target embassies, international organizations and public institutions in Damascus.
The ministry explained that the possible attack methods may include individual attackers, armed, or the use of explosive devices, and in the context of this, it issued a warning to travel to Syria from the fourth level, which is concerned with “prohibited travel”, due to the great risks related to terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, hostage, armed conflict, and non -fair detention.
The ministry stated that this warning is valid due to the tense security conditions in Syria.
American citizens present in Syria to contact the American interests department
The US State Department called on the American citizens present in Syria to contact the American interest department at the Embassy in Republic to obtain assistance in emergency cases, where the numbers or e -mail can be contacted to provide support.
The Ministry also issued a set of measures to be taken, including leaving Syria as soon as possible, avoiding large crowds and demonstrations, and avoiding the places frequented by tourists, as well as continuously following the news to keep pace with security developments.
