The General Center of the Egyptian Red Crescent received an official visit from the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Kate Forbes, as part of her tour in the region with the aim of enhancing cooperation and supporting efforts.
President Kate Forbes, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, was received by Dr. Amal Imam, Dr. Adel Al -Adawi, former Minister of Health and member of the Egyptian Red Crescent Board, Professor Ali Mubarak, Treasurer and Professor Mohamed Abu Al -Maati, member of the Egyptian Red Crescent Board of Directors.
The President of the International Federation of Cross and Red Crescent Societies praises the efforts of the Egyptian Red Crescent in the face of humanitarian crises
The visit included a meeting to present the efforts of the Egyptian Red Crescent and its humanitarian and social interventions in the Egyptian interior, as well as in the responses to the Gaza and Sudan crisis, and other regional responses through humanitarian aid in Syria, Lebanon and southern Sudan.
The visit also included a meeting with the Egyptian Red Crescent employees, where Kate Forbes praised the efforts made by the team working in the Egyptian Red Crescent, especially in the face of the humanitarian crises that the region witnessed recently and indicated the importance of volunteering in supporting these efforts.
The President of the International Federation also toured the general center, which included a visit to the Social Psychological Support Unit, where the unit’s role in providing the necessary psychological support was reviewed to those affected by crises.
It also inspected the first aid training center, as Kate Forbes stood on the advanced equipment of the center and its modern approaches, through which many individuals are trained daily to provide first aid.
The fleet of the mobile clinics of the Egyptian Red Crescent, which roams the governorates, was also inspected to provide services to many groups of society.
