Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel -Sadiq, President of Cairo University, received, in his office, Armen Sarkissian, the ambassador of the State of Armenia in Egypt, to discuss and enhance the ways of joint cooperation in the academic and research fields, between Cairo University and Armenian universities, in the presence of the Consul Carbetian, and Dr. Heidi Bayoumi, Director of the International Relations Office at the University.
Reassuring the conditions of Armenian students studying at the university
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the expansion of cooperation between Cairo University and the Armenian universities in areas of common concern, renewing the cooperation agreement concluded with Yerivan Governmental University, discussing student exchange, and reassuring the conditions of Armenian students studying at the university, in addition to the arrangement for the establishment of a joint scientific conference between the two sides.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel -Sadiq confirmed the welcome of Cairo University in cooperation with Armenian universities, based on the Egyptian -Armenian relations that have a historical and cultural heritage and strong popular relationships, noting that the establishment of the international branch of Cairo University imposes expansion in distinguished programs that grant joint or double academic certificates, in cooperation with international universities.
For his part, Ambassador Armin Sarkisian expressed his happiness for his presence within the prestigious Cairo University with a distinguished academic reputation, and expressed his desire to increase the aspects of joint cooperation between Cairo University and Armenian universities during the coming period to exchange academic experiences, calling for Dr. Muhammad Sami Abdel -Sadiq to visit the State of Armenia to see the educational and research movement within the Armenian universities.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel -Sadiq presented the shield of Cairo University to Mr. Armen Sarkissian, the Ambassador of the State of Armenia in Egypt, and some memorial photos were taken.
