Housing is one of the basic needs that are indispensable to a person.
According to the pyramid of “Maslow for human needs”, a person cannot meet his supreme needs, such as self -fulfillment or reaching his living and practical goals, except after his basic needs that begin with food and water, then safety and housing.
Here we find that the “Maslow pyramid” includes five categories of needs that must be gradually met to reach a state of psychological stability and self -development. The need for housing falls at the second level of the “Maslow pyramid”, specifically within the “security needs”, which includes the need for stability and material safety.
Securing a suitable housing for citizens enhances their feeling of psychological stability, allowing them to focus on developing their skills and talents and participating more effectively in society. Moreover, housing insurance provides citizens with a sense of independence and protection, which contributes to enhancing society’s cohesion and achieving its stability.
A few days ago, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, issued a royal order to accelerate the pace of housing projects by providing 50 thousand new housing units. It is a step added to many royal directives throughout his prosperous era with the aim of meeting the needs of Bahraini citizens in the field of housing, and improving the quality of their lives by providing appropriate and developed housing. It also reflects the vision of the Bahraini leadership, which is constantly seeking to ensure social stability and economic growth in the Kingdom.
On this high royal order, what we mentioned above regarding the “Maslow pyramid for humanitarian needs”, the strengthening of safety and stability in this aspect is one of the most important basics that meet a large segment of citizens, one of their most prominent aspirations and goals that they are waiting to achieve, and for the process to be compatible with the needs of citizens, it must be associated with the factor of completion and investigation, which is the challenge that the official authorities implement in the forefront of the Ministry of Housing Implementation.
Thanks to His Majesty and his directives in this aspect, Bahrain continued its success in achieving the sustainable development goals, especially the eleventh goal that calls for the development of comprehensive, safe and sustainable housing environments, ensuring that citizens guarantee the optimal conditions to achieve their personal and societal aspirations. And the permanent aspiration in this aspect to achieve the satisfaction of the citizen by reducing waiting lists and providing high -quality housing units that do not need fundamental and urgent modifications.
What has been achieved in recent years in the housing file, and specifically against the beneficiary groups is something that requires praise, as today we live important times in terms of the increase in the need for housing projects that do not stop, especially with the development of society and the growth of the population.
