Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, received today Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the new administrative capital, to follow up on a number of work files and projects being implemented on the province’s land.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Local Development extended its sincere congratulations to the governor of Qena, the people of the province and its executive and popular leaders on the occasion of the National Day of the Governorate, which falls on March 3 of each year.
Dr. Manal Awad also followed with Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, the governorate’s efforts in periodic follow -up to the position of the availability of basic commodities in the markets and work to control their prices during the holy month of Ramadan, and to activate mechanisms for monitoring commodity prices in the markets on a daily basis. The Minister of Local Development pointed out the importance of continuing to expand the scope of the “one -day market”, especially in villages and centers, to ensure commodities reaching citizens in those areas at reasonable prices, especially from low -income people.
The governor of Qena explained that the governorate is cooperating with the Ministry of Supply, owners of chains, shops and wholesale trade companies to establish the “One Day Market” initiative in various centers and cities on the land of the province, and to provide daily citizens’ needs with discounts ranging between 25% and 30% compared to the prices of other markets. Pointing out that he is conducting sudden field tours to inspect the markets continuously during the month of Ramadan to determine the availability of goods and commitment of traders to guidelines.
The meeting also touched on the executive position of the investment plan projects for the fiscal year 2024/2025 in a number of service sectors of concern to citizens, including local transport, roads and transportation, improving the environment, as well as strengthening local and community services, and local economic development.
Dr. Manal Awad emphasized the importance of continuous follow -up to implement the projects listed in the investment plan, and to adhere to the timetable for the end of these projects to achieve the aspirations of citizens in all cities and centers in the governorate. Noting the importance of integrating efforts between all executive bodies in the governorate and companies working in implementing projects to improve the quality of life for citizens and raise the efficiency of the services provided.
The Minister of Local Development was keen to follow the file of the reconciliation system on construction violations, the role of legalizing the conditions of the state’s lands, and the system of spatial variables, noting the importance of paying the pace of work in those vital files of interest to citizens, especially after the launch of many facilities and facilities in the files of reconciliation and legalization. Dr. Manal Awad stressed the importance of working to confront construction violations, while pursuing reconciliation efforts in accordance with the laws and rules regulating this.
The Minister of Local Development concluded the meeting with the governor of Qena to follow up the executive position of the local development program projects in Upper Egypt, and in particular the industrial development projects to finish the reconciliation and implementation of the infrastructure and roads of the industrial areas targeted by its implementation in Qena.
