The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes the second workshop from the National Human Rights Plan preparation workshops (2027-2031)

In the presence of His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Saleh Al-Alawi, Minister of Social Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized today the second workshop of preparing the National Plan for Human Rights (2027-2031), which was held through visual contact, with the participation of a number of officials and representatives of the ministries and concerned parties members of the National Human Rights Committee, and was managed by Ambassador Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed, Head of the Human Rights Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A number of members of the diplomatic and consular corps of the Kingdom of Bahrain also participated in the visual contact of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad, the ambassadors of the brotherly and friendly countries accredited to the Kingdom, representatives of the United Nations offices, and representatives of civil society institutions.

In the opening session of the workshop, His Excellency the Minister of Social Development delivered a speech in which he expressed pride in what national institutions and civil society organizations have accomplished in the field of protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in compliance with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Great Country, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of the government and the continuous follow -up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, may God protect him The effective and important role that civil society institutions play in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Ambassador Dr. Youssef Abdel Karim Boujeri, Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Hatem Ali, Director of the United Nations Office on Narcotics and Crime in the Cooperation Council countries, also delivered welcome words.

He spoke in the first working session entitled: (The role of civil society institutions through partnerships), Eng. Ali Ahmed Al -Darazi, President of the National Human Rights Corporation, His Excellency Mrs. Viona and the Chargé d’Affairs of the British Embassy, ​​and Mrs. Amina Al -Jassem – Acting Director of the Department of Private Organizations at the Ministry of Social Development.

The second working session entitled: (The role of civil society in protecting and promoting the rights of various groups) also dealt with the role of civil society in protecting and enhancing the rights of various categories, in which Mrs. Dr. Houria Al -Dairi, Commissioner of the Children’s Rights at the National Human Rights Corporation, and Dr. Farid Ghazi, from the Principles of Human Rights Association, Mrs. Ahlam Ahmed Ragab, from the Bahraini Women’s Union, Mr. Yaqoub Youssef Mohamed, from the Free Union of Bahrain Trade Unions, Mr. Adel Sultan Al -Mutawa, from the Bahraini Center for International Movement, and Mrs. Mona Al -Moayad, the Association for the Protection of Expatriate Workers.

In the third and applied working session: (The importance of the involvement of civil society institutions locally, regionally and internationally), each of: Dr. Abdul -Jabbar Al -Tayeb, from the Bahraini Humanitarian Society, Mr. Mohsen Ali Al -Ghariri, from the Bahraini Observatory for Human Rights Monitoring Association, Mr. Faisal Fouleh, from the Bahrain Human Rights Control Association, and Mr. Ahmed Al -Hujairi, from the Bahraini Society for Human Rights.
