Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak bin Dinah, Minister of Oil and Environment, received the Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Adel Abdullah Salem, CEO of Al Baraka Islamic Bank, where during the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the areas of environmental sustainability were discussed, and the importance of the role of financial institutions in supporting national efforts to preserve the environment and achieve sustainable development.
During the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors to support environmental initiatives, noting the role of banking institutions in supporting sustainable projects and encouraging companies to adopt environmental responsible practices.
During the meeting, a number of proposals that contribute to enhancing sustainability were discussed, such as financing recycling projects, integrating environmental impact studies within the financing standards, and supporting the Crimean trees cultivation initiatives.
For his part, the CEO of Al -Baraka Islamic Bank affirmed the bank’s commitment to support environmental efforts by providing innovative banking solutions that enhance sustainability, expressing the bank’s aspiration to further cooperation with the Supreme Council for the Environment in initiatives that contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
