His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, and His Excellency Mr. Stephen Craig Bondi, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the afforestation event organized by the American embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain at its headquarters in Manama.
His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture expressed his appreciation for the initiative of the American embassy in promoting environmental efforts through afforestation, noting that this step reflects the spirit of community participation, and stressing the distinguished friendship relations that link the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America in various fields.
His Excellency stressed that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture continues to enhance its partnership with all sectors to implement the national afforestation plan, which aims to double the number of trees in the Kingdom by 2035, in line with the obligations of the Kingdom of Bahrain to reach the carbon neutrality by 2060.
For his part, Ambassador Bondi praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of afforestation and the preservation of the environment, expressing his gratitude to the Minister for the involvement of the American embassy in this national initiative.
His Excellency Ambassador Bondi, explaining: “The tree needs to take care to grow, just as strong diplomatic relations need attention, that their cultivation together represents a symbol of joint efforts in strengthening and strengthening ties between our governments and peoples.”
His Excellency affirmed the commitment of the American embassy to the active partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain, whether in the present or the future, wishing the Kingdom more success and prosperity.
The afforestation event was attended by the American embassy headquarters, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of Municipal Affairs and Engineer Asim Abdullatif, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Livestock Affairs, and a number of officials of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Agriculture and the American Embassy.
