Under the guidance of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty, the President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, the Supreme Council for Women to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain participates in the work of the 69th session of the United Nations Women’s Status Committee, whose work begins today, Monday, at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York City, USA, and the launch of the third edition of the Royal Highness Princess Princess Princess Sabika Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa International to empower women In cooperation and coordination with the United Nations Women’s Authority, on the sidelines of the work of this session, the work of the 69th session of the Women’s Status Committee has been devoted to evaluating the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and curriculum, and the review of the progress that was accomplished towards achieving gender equality and empowerment of women, defining challenges and setting international controls and standards, to formulate policies to enhance gender equality and empower women all over the world.
In this important session, the Supreme Council of Women represents His Excellency the Secretary -General, Professor Lulwa Saleh Al -Awadi, by delivering the speech of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and this participation comes to confirm that the empowerment of women is a basic pillar of the success of the strategies and development programs aimed at upgrading women in the sponsorship of fields in member states.
The Kingdom of Bahrain participates in the side effectiveness of the permanent committee of women in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which is organized by the State of Kuwait, entitled: Women and Technology: Inspiring Stories in the Cooperation GCC countries for the Arab States of the Gulf, and Mrs. Shaima Al -Meir will participate in this session, a first space data analyst in the National Authority for Space Sciences, by delivering a speech on the reality of Bahraini women in the field of technology and modern technologies, and will also participate in the Secretary -General of the Supreme Council for Women in a number of women The side events organized by a number of member states on the sidelines of the work of the session 69 women’s status at the United Nations.
It should be noted that the Women’s Settlement Committee is a technical committee affiliated with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations Authority dedicated to making global policies and in particular to enhance gender equality and empowering women, as it was established under the decision of the Economic and Social Council No. 11 on June 21, 1946, and annual meetings are held in March to enhance gender equality and empower women, and includes 45 members of the member states that are elected for a period of four years before before Economic and Social Council based on a fair geographical distribution.
