The Arab Gulf University announced its intention to organize an international conference under the slogan “Confronting the obesity epidemic: visions for a more healthy future” in May, in the presence of the President of the Supreme Council of Health, the team, the doctor, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who confirmed that the conference provides an important opportunity for scientists and doctors to exchange ideas and innovations.
Gulf University is organizing the conference at the Crown Plaza Hotel in the Conference Hall, to discuss the global challenges related to obesity epidemic, and to review the latest scientific developments and practical solutions to enhance weight management and prevent obesity.
The team, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, praised the role of the Arab Gulf University and its keenness to embrace major medical conferences in a sustainable way, stressing its continuous leadership in organizing conferences, initiatives and events that aim to spread community awareness and discuss developments in the various medical sectors.
He said that “the university contributes effectively to enhancing medical knowledge and exchanging experiences between health professionals, which reflects its commitment to developing the medical sector in the region,” noting that these conferences provide an important opportunity for scientists and doctors to exchange ideas and innovations that improve the quality of health care and achieve sustainable progress in this vital sector.
For his part, the President of the Arab Gulf University, Dr. Saad Al -Fahid The conference schedule, which extends over two days from 8 to 9 May next, will present the latest developments and developments of obesity, and the latest scientific evidence based on proofs regarding medicines and interventional procedures for obesity. Speakers will also review at the conference experiences of doctors from various specializations during joint discussion sessions to discuss complications of obesity on various major organs of the body.
He pointed out that the conference sessions will include interactive workshops covering various topics, such as discussing the role of technology in weight management, national strategies in the Gulf countries to combat obesity, psychological and social factors in enhancing a healthy lifestyle, physiology of obesity and related genetics, in addition to chronic health diseases associated with them such as diabetes, high blood fat, heart and liver diseases, mental diseases, as well as cancer.
A group of doctors, experts, researchers and decision makers from all over the world will participate in the conference to review the latest research and successful practices in the areas of health and nutrition.
The conference offers innovative visions for a more healthy and sustainable future. It is expected that it will attract a wide presence of public health interested, including doctors, nutritionists, researchers, and students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The conference is a unique platform for communication and building international partnerships aimed at enhancing efforts to combat obesity.
The conference discusses a number of axes on obesity and management, obesity in children and adolescents, obesity and women’s health, with a focus on modern research in the areas of obesity and nutrition, lifestyle treatment, obesity medications, and the latest developments related to surgical interventions to treat obesity. A discussion will also be held on societal challenges related to anti -obesity, as the main sessions will manage prominent speakers in the field of obesity treatments from various countries participating in the conference.
On the sidelines of the conference, three workshops are held on nutrition in obesity patients, ways to deal with them, and a workshop on primary health care houses to address this disease in addition to a workshop on acquiring basic surgical skills and also the use of perspectives.
