This candidacy, which was announced by Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs after the approval of the Council of Ministers; It embodies the clear vision and the clear approach that the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, embodies towards strengthening the presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a positive force and an active international partner.
This candidacy, which was received by great support from the Arab and Islamic countries, the group of Asian countries, the Pacific Ocean and other friendly countries, represents a real translation of Bahrain’s strategic goals in establishing security, peace and coexistence, and affirming its commitment to support the sustainable development goals and human service.
As the Foreign Minister explained; The Kingdom’s candidacy for this important international position clearly reflects the vision of His Majesty the King, may God support him, and the government’s approaches headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, in building firm international partnerships that contribute to promoting regional and global peace, deepening human brother The sovereignty of states and non -interference in their internal affairs, in line with the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The Kingdom of Bahrain seeks, through its upcoming membership in the UN Security Council, to activate and develop the international role in preserving peace and security, by enhancing dialogue and negotiation as a basic method for settling conflicts, and working to combat extremism and terrorism and confront modern security challenges that include cybersecurity, environmental, food, water and marine security, as well as raising the level of global humanitarian work to mitigate The effects of crises and disasters; In the context of transparency, efficiency and comprehensiveness that international responsibility in the Security Council requires.
