The Center for Medical and Surveying at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Arab Gulf University, in cooperation with the e -learning unit, succeeded in implementing the first digital test for professional skills in the college, which represents an important step towards updating methods of evaluation of medical education using the latest digital technologies.

For the first time the examiners used the tablets to perform the evaluations digitally across three groups, three sessions, and five stations per cycle. Digital reference lists were smoothly combined into the system, ensuring the exact distribution of the examiners and students in each group. At the same time, the examiners underwent a comprehensive training to identify the new platform, which strengthened the efficiency and accuracy of the evaluation. The examiners praised the new system, noting that it is characterized by high effectiveness, saving time, reducing costs, and canceling the need to use paper completely.

This transition to the organized objective clinical evaluation system contributes to the removal of manual errors, simplifying the evaluation process, and providing immediate data analyzes through an analytical control panel. This innovative approach allows to follow the performance of students and examiners and the efficiency of the stations more accurately.

On this, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Arab Gulf University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Halim Dhaif Allah, explained that the use of electronic exam technology in the clinical skills exam for students of the third stage in the college aims to develop the educational process and improve the quality of student evaluation, in addition to automating the establishment and correcting of exams, which provides time and effort for faculty and administrative members and provides the results of the exams immediately and the performance analysis of students, A more objective and fair assessment. It is noteworthy that this system has proven successful in the clinical exams of the doctor’s program in medicine.

“The transition to a full digital test of professional skills is a great progress in the evaluation methodology in the center of medical skills and simulation. Through integrating technology, we enhance accuracy, efficiency and immediate analysis of data, which eliminates errors and logistical challenges related With paper tests, this innovation also guarantees a more objective and unified assessment of clinical competencies, while providing valuable visions of continuous improvement in medical education and health professions. “

In the same context, the director of the university’s information technology center, Mr. Nawaf Abdul Rahman, stressed that the completion of the first digital test for the end of the unit for professional skills is an achievement in the comprehensive digital transformation process implemented by the university. Pointing out that the adoption of digital evaluation enhances innovation and employs modern technology to improve the quality of education and academic evaluation. He added: “This step aims to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and transparency, and to provide a more efficient educational experience for students, in line with the vision of the digital transformation of a digital advanced university that keeps pace with the developments of the times and meets the needs of the future.”
