The executive and legislative powers held a joint meeting today to continue consulting on the issue of the state’s general budget for the two-year-old years 2025-2026. The meeting was chaired by the House of Representatives, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Salman Al-Muslim, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and by the Shura Council Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, while the government side Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
The meeting also witnessed the attendance of a number of His Excellency the Ministers, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Speaker and members of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committees in both Councils, and a number of officials.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ahmed bin Salman Al -Muslim, Speaker of the House of Representatives, stressed the keenness of the legislative authority to support government programs, ministerial projects, initiatives, programs and development services, which are in the interest of the country and citizens, and take into account the financial conditions and the public interest. During the meeting, the government team affirmed the keenness when preparing the state’s general budget project for the financial two years 2025-2026 to achieve the interest of the country and citizens by maintaining positive economic growth in parallel with the achievement of the financial sustainability targets, to ensure the strengthening of development and development and the continuity of creating opportunities for citizens, and raising the efficiency of supporting support to its citizens.
In this context, the government team reviewed a number of priorities and projects for government ministries and the proposal to include them in the state’s general budget project, including achieving the sustainability of providing housing services for citizens and reducing waiting lists by immediately obtaining housing service and in partnership with the private sector, explaining that the budget includes the largest volume of housing projects and services by 800 million Bahraini dinars, which is the highest comparison with courses The previous budget since the start of providing housing services to citizens in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
