The United Arab Emirates Central Bank revealed the new symbol of the national currency of the UAE “dirham”, which comes as an embodiment of the vision of the rational leadership, and the directives and follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Bureau, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank, to enhance the state’s position as a pioneering global financial center.
The Central Bank also announced the progress made in the path of issuing and circulating the “digital dirham” of the UAE, one of the initiatives of the financial infrastructure transformation program, which was launched by the Central Bank in 2023 with the aim of enhancing the entrepreneurial position of the state in the financial infrastructure, and a destination for excellence in creating financial products and digital transformation.
