Today, the eleventh anniversary of the founding of the Council of Muslim Elders headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, and the membership of a number of scholars of the nation. The council was established on the 21st of Ramadan in 1435 AH, corresponding to July 19, 2014, with the aim of promoting peace and spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance, human coexistence, supporting the nation’s issues, unifying and reuniting its ranks, and enhancing the role of leaders and symbols of religions in facing global challenges. Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary -General of the Council of Muslim Elders, stressed that since its establishment, the Council has devoted its effort to work to promote peace and spread the values of brotherhood and human acquaintance, highlighting the tolerant values of Islam in dealing with the other, and affirming the importance of dialogue
