Mahmoud Al -Khatib, President of the Egyptian Al -Ahly Club, adhered to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Red Castle, regarding the non -completion of the Egyptian Football Premier League competition, against the backdrop of the crisis of the summit match against the traditional rival Zamalek Club.
In an official statement, the Egyptian club Al -Ahly club announced that the 130th summit match was not played against its traditional rivals, Zamalek, which was scheduled to be held last Tuesday, in the league championship, due to the failure to appoint a foreign arbitration team to manage the meeting.
The Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hani Abu Raida, announced the support of the summit match between the two poles of Egyptian football and Zamalek to referee Mahmoud Bassiouni, which was rejected by Al -Ahly.
A senior official at Al -Ahly club confirmed that Mahmoud Al -Khatib, the club president, refused friendly solutions, in order to return to complete the league competition during the coming period.
He pointed out that the head of the Red Castle adhered to running the summit again against the Zamalek club with foreign referees, after receiving some contacts in the past hours, to try to persuade him to complete the league championship.
He explained that Al -Ahly’s board of directors believes that its position is sound, especially since the Egyptian Clubs Association demanded earlier that there are foreign referees for the team’s confrontations against Zamalek and Pyramids.
