Sometimes technology is like a remote control of the “TV remote”, which is the one that a family member insists on its monopoly and it does not distinguish between the audio button and the duct change, so you see it pressing randomly until the device is completely disrupted, then turns to the attendees, accusing them of being the reason behind the ruin of this “stupid” device.
This scene, which seems funny and frequent in our homes, also happens in many institutions more expensive and disturbing. There are huge technical projects that suddenly turn from a beautiful dream into a stressful nightmare, and the reason is simply: a “supposed” technical official on this site, put in a position that does not suit him and does not have the required competence. You see him talking in the meetings with majestic sentences such as “digital transformation”, “the fourth industrial revolution” and “cloud computing”, to the extent that the attendees suggest that they listen to Steve Jobs in its Bahraini version. But as soon as a distinctive and promising idea is presented, it turns into a philosopher that deeply talks about details that he does not understand at all, thinking that the complexity will make him seem more intelligent!
Then, unfortunately, it begins, a twisted trip to disable the project; In front of the institution’s administration, it appears enthusiastic, claiming full cooperation, but in reality, it does not provide any real support, and does not make any serious effort to help the project. It is satisfied with theorizing, skepticism and spreading negativity among employees, and in many cases he seeks to prove that the project is not successful, for nothing but because its success at the hands of others will reveal its weakness and inability to achieve something similar before.
This type of officials is like a friend we all know, which rejects only a new restaurant experience because another person liked the restaurant before him. She asks him about the reason, and he says to you: “I heard that their eating is bad.” So she asked him again: “Have you tried it for yourself?” And he responds with confidence: “No, but my heart is not comfortable for him!” Just like our technical official, he rejects any project that is not created, because the success of the project at the hands of others means that he must admit that someone is better than him.
As for the management of the institution itself, in some cases, the technology supports as you support your favorite club: enthusiastically if it is victorious, neglect and ignore if you stumble a little. Another type is similar to that father who attends the meetings of parents only to enjoy coffee and sweets, while his son in the chapter suffers and fights. These officials trust what this technical official says blindly, so they do not know the details of what is going on on the ground, and they do not realize that their choice of this official may be the biggest mistake.
Every time I see a simple employee who tries to complete his treatment through a unemployed technical system, I feel sorry for it. He thinks that the technology is the first accused, and he does not know that the real accused is sitting in a nearby office that repeats the famous saying: “Let us study the issue is an increase.” The time is that technology is innocent of the disruption of our projects. What really disrupts it is the “remote” that some officials insist on monopolizing, although they are not good at using it!
In order not to remain a painful reality, we must encourage our children and motivate them to acquire real skills that qualify them to lead technical change, away from the fear of the success of others or hesitation in front of the challenges of the future, a generation knows very well when and how it presses the correct button!* Technical expert
