Syrian media reported that the clashes between security and the remnants of the regime were renewed in Lattakia countryside.
Today, Sunday, Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara called for peace after the killing of hundreds in coastal areas in the worst sectarian violence since the fall of Bashar al -Assad.
Al -Shara said: With the continued clashes between the forces associated with the new rulers and fighters from the Assad Alawite sect, “We must preserve national unity and internal peace, we can live together.”
Events in Syria
Al -Shara said in a video circulated speaking in a mosque in his childhood neighborhood in Mezza in Damascus: “Reassure Syria, this country has the characteristics of survival, what is happening now in Syria within the expected challenges.”
Syrian security sources said that at least two hundred of its members were killed in clashes with the former army members because of their loyalty to Assad after coordinated attacks and ambushes on their forces launched on Thursday.
