In a move aimed at enhancing human rights awareness among university students, the National Human Rights Corporation, in cooperation with the Bahrain Political Development Institute, organized an introductory visit to the participants in the National Practical Training Program (Etqan) to the Foundation’s headquarters in the suburb of Al -Saif. During the visit, Professor Fatima Al -Tarif, Head of the Training and Education Department at the Foundation, welcomed the students and gave them a brief presentation on the most important axes of the visit and the introductory lecture presented by a number of specialists in the General Secretariat.
The focus was during the lecture on several axes, including the emergence of the national institution and its prominent role in promoting human rights in Bahrain, and the continuous efforts made by the Foundation to raise the level of awareness of basic rights and ensure its effective application on the ground. The Foundation’s role in protecting human rights has also been reviewed, the mechanisms it uses to receive complaints and work to solve them, and how to interact with human rights situations in a manner that guarantees the speed of response and effectiveness.
The visit, which came within the activities of the National Practical Training Program (Iqan), enabled students to understand the role of law and institutions in promoting and protecting human rights, and the students expressed their appreciation for the quality of the information provided and the interactive approach that the lecturers followed during the visit.
