The General Authority for Health Care launched an initiative under the title Ramadan with health for all the family for free detection of rheumatic diseases, which aim to correct false concepts about these diseases, and to provide early detection and treatment for patients, especially in light of the spread of popular recipes and myths that may lead to serious complications.
Marginal specialization and circulating superstitions
Dr. Hani Ishaq Shehata, a rheumatic specialist in Minya, explained that the specialization of rheumatism deals with autoimmune diseases that affect the motor system, and it is not the specialization of bones or physical therapy, as some believe, indicating the spread of myths and false information about these diseases, which causes patients to follow unscientific recipes that may harm their health.
Early detection is the basis of treatment
Dr. Hani Ishaq stressed the importance of early detection of rheumatic diseases, noting that the patient’s continuation of pain in the joints or vertebrae for a period of more than two continuous months requires going to a rheumatic doctor for examination, and added that early detection and treatment contribute to preserving the joints of complications of corrosion, fibrosis, deformation and disability.
Daily diagnosis and specialized treatment
Dr. Hani Ishaq explained that the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases depends on clinical examination and pathological history, and not only on medical analyzes, and pointed out that biological therapy is not a magic solution for all patients, but rather it must be identified and dedicated to each case separately.
Comprehensive initiative and various services
The Ramadan Initiative includes health for all the family, the free detection of rheumatic diseases, the provision of medical consultations from a distance application, and the initiative works daily, including Fridays throughout the month of Ramadan, under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Minya, Dr. Nadia Makram Sadiq, Undersecretary of the Health and Population Directorate in Minya, and Dr. Naglaa Ahmed Ezzat, Director General of Minya Health Administration.
