Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, expected that Bitcoin (BTC) would control the strategic reserve of digital currencies, owned by US President Donald Trump, which will enhance optimism in the market, and push prices to rise.
Despite the receipt of reports indicating the possibility of including a number of alternative currencies of high market value, Matt Hogan, the company’s investment director, believes that Bitcoin (BTC) will be the currency dominant in the reserve.
Huan confirmed the BitWise expectations regarding the dominance of Bitcoin (BTC) on the reserve, noting in a post on the “X” platform that “the market investors were disappointed due to an advertisement that includes more than Bitcoin (BTC), and the inclusion of assets with small capital, which increased the complexity of matters unnecessarily.”
He added: “After things calm down, I think the final reserve will be almost completely from Bitcoin (BTC), and its size will be greater than people expect.”
Hagan pointed out that a number of prominent figures in the field of digital currencies have expressed concern about the formation of the reserve, especially with regard to the inclusion of non -Bitcoin assets (BTC).
This was preceded by Brian Armstrong, CEO Coinbase, in a similar opinion, indicating that the market had erred in assessing the full image.
Hagan is still optimistic, noting that the transformations in the morale will eventually pour in the benefit of the reserve. He compared these developments to Trump’s previous policies, such as: customs tariffs, which witnessed major changes after their initial announcement, stressing that the same may happen with the digital reserve, which may enhance the bullish trend of Bitcoin (BTC) and the digital market in general.
“While the markets concern about the American political reaction to this reserve, it is important to remember that the most important consumers of this decision are not in the United States, but abroad,” added Hagan.
Despite optimism, Hogan acknowledged that the American strategic reserves of digital currencies may face challenges if political administration changes.
He pointed out that if the head of the Democratic Democrats take over after Trump, the reserve may be canceled or the assets liquidation, which may lead to fluctuations in the market.
However, it is believed that major institutions and government reserves are adopting digital currencies, will enhance Bitcoin’s position in the long term, regardless of political fluctuations.
Hagan concluded his remarks by saying: “The US government declares that digital currencies are strategic assets, and I think the market will eventually realize this.”
BitWise’s expectations of optimism in the market contributed, as the Bitcoin price increased by 4.78% to 91,677.50 dollars during the past 24 hours. The positive momentum also extended to the rest of the digital currency market, as the total market value increased by 4.63%, to reach 3.01 trillion dollars.
Nevertheless, there are still some doubts, as Polymarket data showed that only 24 % of the participants believe that Trump will create a bitcoin reserve during the first 100 days of his term.
