The Ministry of Health and Population has warned of the health risks associated with obesity and weight gain, stressing that this condition negatively affects the health of individuals and increases the possibility of chronic and serious diseases.
Obesity increases the risk of chronic diseases and mental problems
The ministry explained, through an awareness publication, that obesity leads to a feeling of fatigue and shortness of breath, as well as the chances of developing diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease, in addition to high cholesterol levels and their negative effect on the kidneys.
The Ministry indicated that obesity may increase the risk of some types of cancer, in addition to its effect on the quality of life by causing sleep difficulties, back pain and joints.
The Ministry also warned the psychological impact of obesity, as it may lead to problems such as poor self -confidence and social isolation, which increases the possibility of exposure to depression.
The Ministry of Health called on citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle based on proper nutrition and regular physical activity, to reduce obesity risks and improve the quality of life.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health and Population warned of the risk of high blood pressure, stressing that it may lead to an explosion or blockage of the arteries that provide the brain with blood and oxygen, which increases the possibility of stroke.
The Ministry stressed the importance of maintaining blood pressure levels within the natural limits to avoid serious health complications, stressing the need for periodic examination and following up the pressure rates regularly.
