The Italian club Napoli expressed great interest in contracting Turkish defender Mirih Demair, the Saudi Al -Ahly player, during the next summer transfer window, to strengthen his defense line in the new season.
According to the newspaper “TGRTHABER”, the Italian club has already started its contacts with the Al -Ahly Jeddah administration to discuss the possibility of annexing the player, in a deal that may amount to 10 million euros.
Demair, 26, is one of the most prominent names in the Al -Ahly defense line, where he has provided strong levels since joining the Saudi team in the summer of 2023.
Despite his association with a contract with the Saudi club that extends until the summer of 2026, his remarkable brilliance returned his name to the Italian league clubs, where he previously played in Sassuolo, Juventus, and Atlanta.
The Turkish player has extensive experience in European stadiums, as he started his career with Fenerbahce and Alaania Sport in Türkiye, then moved to Sporting Lisbon, Portuguese, before making his way towards the Italian Calcio.
Napoli is seeking to strengthen his ranks with a strong defensive player, especially after the volatile performance of the team this season, amid reports indicating the possibility of resolving the deal in the event of an agreement with Al -Ahly during the summer Mercato.
Napoli is second in the Italian league table with 57 points, one point behind leaders Inter Milan, who has 58 points, after 27 rounds of “Calcio” for the current season 2024-2025.
The team suffered a surprise defeat in its last match against Como, 2-1, to continue the chain of non-victory, which reached four games.
This loss prevented Napoli from restoring the league, as it remained in second place by one point behind Inter Milan.
